I have always loved a more “full glam” makeup look. Unfortunately, a lot of the bridal work I do is with brides who want a natural look. While I LOVE the natural look and think it really shows off the skills of a makeup artist, sometimes I really get a hankering for a heavier look. I reached out to numerous Indian/Southeast Asian/Persian friends to see if they’d let me play around with their faces to practice some techniques, since their bridal looks are typically full glam. I’m lucky enough to have many friends who volunteered.
Here’s my first transformation:
As you can probably tell, Rajuta is beautiful and has damn near perfect skin without makeup and didn’t need much. But this is a full coverage look with heavier contouring and dramatic eyes, and I think it also suits her well.
Here is a breakdown of the products I used, and the order I used them in.
- Smashbox Primer Water
- Benefit Porefessional (only in t-zone)
- Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation applied with beauty blender
- Ben Nye Neutralizer Crayon (under-eye for circles)
- Mac ProLongwear (different shades used to conceal and highlight)
- LA Girl Pro Concealer (contour cheek bones, temple, and down sides of nose)
- Graftobian HD Powder Foundation to set
- Tom Ford Blushes in Ravish and Love Lust
- Smashbox 24 Hour Eyeshadow Primer
- Kat Von D Shade + Light Palette (create shape, define crease, define outer v, smudged under lower lash line)
- Makeupgeek eyeshadow in Grand Stand all over lid
- Inglot Gel Liner #77
- House of Lashes falsies in Iconic
- Nars Audacious lipstick in Fanny
