Today was one of those days that reminded me why I love my job. I had the privilege of being a vendor at Modern Luxury’s Atlanta Brides summer issue release party at the Atlanta Food Truck Park since I am featured in this issue. (So if you get a chance, go pick it up!) It was so cute and well-executed, although it was brutally hot. Like, we-were-under-a-tent-yet-I-was-quite-literally-dripping-sweat-hot. My hair went up into a ponytail in negative two seconds.

Oh well.

Sometimes you just have to put your friends to work. Thanks, Sam, for unwrapping my swag items!

My sweet friends who came to support me! Definitely not because there was free alcohol or anything…Cool eyes, Sam!

It was a day filled with meeting other professionals in my industry and periphery industries, such as photographers, nail salon owners, etc. I spent most of my time chatting with consumers about what I do and telling them about L’dara, the new and innovative anti-aging and anti-inflammatory serum that I sell. People were buzzing about L’dara and I gave out tons of samples; there is a reason why Dancing With The Stars loves us and we win countless awards!

I didn’t snap a great picture of the makeup I wore, but this is more or less the look I wore. Aqua colored eyeliner on lower inner rim, but a soft pink lip today instead of ultra bold red.

My booth was fairly simple since this was my first time as a vendor and I didn’t quite know what I needed to have. A super-sized poster, some swag items like a nail kit and coozie, candy, and all sorts of brochures made for a pretty, composed table that wasn’t super overwhelming. If it weren’t so hot, I would have offered some type of makeover or makeup application, but it would have been useless in the heat!

Here are three different layouts to my table, which I rotated through depending on the wind. Unfortunately, the poster was so big and the easel was so lightweight and small that when the wind picked up, everything would tumble over. Including my poor vase and flowers.

I loved loved loved getting to speak with people all day about what I do. Answering questions like “why did you choose to become a makeup artist?” and “how did you get started?” is surprisingly refreshing, because sometimes I go, go, go so fast that I forget why I’m going in the first place. Plus, I’m one of those people that really enjoys networking, so it was a blast to chat with so many people.

Bottom line: if you have a chance to go to a Modern Luxury/Jezebel/Atlantan/Atlanta Brides event, definitely do! They are super fun. Now go get your copy of Atlanta Brides 🙂
