LORAC eyeshadows are AMAZING. The original LORAC Pro palette was one of the first palettes I ever added to personal kit because I was so in love, and then repurchcased for my professional one as well. They are so smooth, buttery, and pigmented that it almost kind of ruins other shadows for you.
Below is my full review, including swatches!
I snagged the Mega Pro Palette 2 at Ulta and it is no different — the shadows are extremely pigmented and devoid of any of that chalky, powdery texture that a lot of other matte shadows have. There are four rows of eight shadows for a total of 32 eyeshadows, half of which are matte and the other half shimmers.
My only complaint about the Mega Pro Palette’s color selection is that I would have liked to see a few more variations of deeper brown matte colors, because I use them frequently and this palette really only had two and then skipped down to very light brown matte shades. Besides that, there is an awesome color range of warm vs. cool shades and essentially each matte shade has a shimmer counterpart which is a nice way to pair colors together.
The packaging is that standard LORAC rubbery feeling cardboard (that I actually quite like, but it gets dirty particularly fast.) When you open the palette, there is a huge mirror inside, which a nice plus for application.
Bottom line: the Mega Pro Palette 2 is a great palette to have. Rich, creamy textured eyeshadows, a nice variety of finishes, and a good range of shades? Uh YES, count me in! I could see this working really well for women who want a “one-size-fits all” palette for daily wear, or as a gift for a makeup enthusiast. You really can’t go wrong with LORAC shadows!
